I actually like the Water Temple in Legend of Zelda.
Granted it is a bit hard playing blind, but if you have a good memory and are observant of what needs to be done around you, it's not that hard.
And basically, I think the reason for Morpha and controlling the Water Temple?
Simple. Control of Hyrule's Water supply.
With Zora's Domain frozen and Lake Hylia drained, Ganondorf could do that in Hyrule to further his own power over others and to benefit himself and his forces. Granted it's more or less implied in the game rather then said...
Which you might take for granted these days, but consider this-what would happen in a nation if a tyrant really did have full control over the entire supply of fresh water?

It's not like the Water Temple is Teemo (a LoL character usually played by toxic players).
