I do know guilt is legitimately good. I mean, people should be held accountable and should feel guilty about bad actions, ya?

Suppose say...it were used not for the purpose of justice nor of correction...
But more of a way to hurt others, and to manipulate others, and to be a way of holding wrongs against people that are totes old, or may be used to exact revenge or vendetta, or to a corrupt and unjust source of judgment, to be used more to further one's power and to control others and to stop them and to lay blame on them and use their mistakes against them to keep them down and paint them as villains to secure power for themselves.
After all, judgment, mercilessly, blame, accusations...

Suppose then...perhaps this agent of Guilt is, how you say, a rather disinfranchised angelic goddess who couldn't bear the world and it's evils anymore, who saw countless people suffer and die at the hands of the cruel and wicked, and to only be treated for her efforts with scorn and hatred and for people to fight her and hurt her that were supposed to be her own allies and were supposed to hold up to the standards of heaven?
...Let's say, perhaps, that a corrupt head priest had mistreated her in a pretty horrible way to make her out to be a villain and then when she confronted him, he stabbed her in the chest with a spear proclaiming that he was the bearer of the key of heaven and proclaiming he was a righteous hero for doing so...and people believed him and supported him because of his lies and because he gave them power and authority as they hurt other people under his guidance and instruction and cost many people their lives, liberties, and freedom?
...My guess...is that would be heartbreaking.
Which is why she started to act on her own and started to murder people that she deemed to be sinners. Due to this, she became increasingly hostile and increasingly bitter as the darkness turned her anger into wrath and turned her wish and desire to do good into a vendetta to destroy all who stood in her way, and she became a murderer and an extremist who destroyed countless lives, even if she merely saw them as evil.
A blind, red-winged angel bearing a cursed sword of light that has become an instrument of condemnation and destruction, who cannot care anymore nor feel love nor care for mercy...
