This blade doesn't necessarily have to be a sword, it can be any sort of weapon. Yet it still obtains "Double Edged" for a good reason. Seeing as such weapons as projections rather then physical objects, they cannot be lost or stolen, and all have the same programming, though can fit to any sort of style that is used by a person and use any sort of talent they possess to do so. Of course, the name is more or less symbolic then literal, as it were.

The first edge that is meant as an offense against attacking enemies is the first edge, which allows for the use of martial arts/magic spells that are based on virtue attacks.

However, the second edge is very vital. As it allows not only for the use of healing the body and mind if in peril, but also will deliver a bit of a backblow against cruel and wicked deeds should someone use or attempt to use said weapon to do harm. As such, it will not work properly for this. And will hurt painfully, though in doing so it extracts Sin from people's spirit, purifying them to keep them from falling into corruption.

However...some users of these weapons have been rather misled to believe the second edge is a liability that prevents what needs to get done being done, particularly in the name of their own personal views and goals that go against what the second edge's operating system accepts as an input command.

As such...some have removed this edge. Doing so does make it a pure offensive weapon, but disables the ability to heal as well as the restrictions that are meant for peace...meaning one with it can do pretty much what they will, but...in doing so and the reason behind doing so and the deeds done with it, it will corrupt the weapon into a hostile thing and into a tool for evil. Corrupted ones of them are extremely dangerous since sin has tainted them that can be fatal to the weaknesses of those who face them, not to mention ones who have rejected the second edge tend to be willing to do anything and everything they can to win as well as for their own benefit and power, meaning they will often have no regard for innocent or helpless people and tend to see them as pests or inferior or as tools to use and exploit. Facing one like this in battle requires keeping your defenses up at all times, healing if need be from damage inflicted by them, and countering the weaknesses of the dark energy while keeping in mind it's resistances and effectiveness against certain weak points at all times in battle. After all, innocent lives depend on it as well as the well being of those who fight darkened ones or who are tempted to reject the second edge to bring down an enemy, real or not, seeing as doing so will result in this.

Furthermore, do to the fact that different styles and talents to be rather different from one person to another based on largely their own interpretation and talents of how to use it and with what gift they have to use it, some people using these have gone bad because of attacking each other under the idea that differences equal corruption and that talents must specifically glorify one ideal and purpose and must abide by false rules that are not in the programming settings nor in the Laws of how to use Talents or operate different styles...which is said to be a trick to cause internal fighting and to trick people into giving up one side or the other of the blade to render it either useless or corrupted.

Removing the offensive blade to some may seem to be a good idea at first, particularly if people feel motivated by love and mercy to try and make friends with and try to reach and understand everyone. Sadly, offensive edges, while they should not be used as a first resort to resolve conflicts, it is sadly necessary for self-defense against hostile threats who do want to inflict serious and very real physical harm against others and to one's person...and using this offensive edge to stop them does often require the use of deadly force, though one should always try, if they can, to disable or capture opponents and to do things as legally as possible and as reasonably as possible at all times. If and only if it is clear your opponent is a threat to you or someone else and it is a real, actual threat does one have the right to implement rules of engagement in fighting an enemy, and even then one must keep in mind what keeps these weapons functional and why they work the way they do. Also, choosing to remove the offensive edge means there is no offense or way to fight back against hostile enemies, which is a very great risk to anyone in hostile situations that will likely get them killed if not worse due to the reality of the cruelty of evil.

They say that the first edge is known as "Law", while the second edge is known as "Mercy". Both are needed to effectively use a weapon of a "Double Edge Blade" classification (even if, again, it is not an actual double-edge sword). They cannot operate effectively without the other.
Meh, just some random thing I was thinking about, for reasons or no reason, or whatever. Who knows?

Oh well. Here you go. :3

So, the first edge is normal, while the second edge is for healing and anti-evil.
